Low oil and oem rims question

Low oil and oem rims question
Hi all, I have two questions for you experts.
1. I noticed the oil level is a bit low, just on the bottom "X" of the dipstick. I have Mobile 1 in the car now. I have a bottle of conventional oil (Castrol 5w30) lying around....can I top it off with this oil for the time being? I am not due for a oil change yet...was done 2 months ago and about 1000 miles driven.
2. a friend gave me his rear 16x7.5" oem rims. Should I use them for me fronts? For a square 16x7.5 with 225/50R16 tires?
My car is a 2001 all stock and 100% street driven.
Thanks!

seeing you have an ap1 the oil level a little low is normal. ap1's in general are prone to burning some oil. 00-01 especially. the dealers bulletins say up to a quart everyone 1000 miles is exceptable...my 01 ap1 burns a quart every 2k now. mobil one i have heard tends to burn a little fast. i use castrol gtx 10w-30 and like it alot... dont know about the rims and tires.

If it needs oil, add oil! Mixing dino with synth isn't going to hurt anything I don't think, but it's not a bad idea to add the same kind of oil that's in the crankcase.
If you want to fit rear wheels up front, you have to either bore out the center hole to 70.1mm (from 64mm) or use spacers (which may also require longer wheel studs). Personally, for the street I'd just stick with stock front wheels and run 205/225.

If you decide to run squared rims just be aware it'll probably increase oversteer, not necessarily a bad thing IF know how to manage it. More tire will help your overall cornering ability.

1. I wouldn't mix the oil. Just go get a oil change and buy one more same engine oil bottle for future.
2. You can run. I personally don't like to run same size tires all around on rwd cars.

I heard running the same width on the front wheels can cause bump steer. The extra few mm of tire tread wont help as much as buying sick ass tires. I say give those rims to someone with a civic or prelude. They'll think its JDM as ****.

you are an owner of an AP1, what are you doing driving around without an extra qt of the same oil in your trunk...lol. j/k, I'd would top it off with what ever you have lying around, you might be doing damage to you TCT running around with low oil. Just top it off with what you got or go spend to 6-8 bucks on a qt of mobil 1.

I will also keep my oem staggered setup. Thanks for all the expert answers!
