I recommend a steel head gasket to drop the compression. Some people have said the copper will not with stand the heat and they compress over time.
AEBS is located in Cali.

chrisD how much you boosting? another question for everyone else, when you lower the compression on the car doesn't it lower the performance of it as well? A Newbie question i know but was just wondering. Thanks guys

All else equal at the same amount of boost lowering the compression will degrade performance however the s2k motor is very finicky and can detonate very easily so lowering the comp is a great idea. And like stated before a lower comp motor can run more boost so in that aspect it increases performance

What terry said. The amount of horsepower you'll gain by adding boost will far offset the amount of horsepower you'll lose by lowering compression. Generally those concerned with increasing compression are those who are trying to get more horsepower out of a NA application.

I'm currently boosting about 4psi, because I don't have my wastegate spring and boost solenoid installed, amongst other non-car related problems (my laptop battery died, it makes programming the EMS difficult). I expect that after this week or two I'll be boosting 22-25 psi.

The block I recommend you rather do a Mike Simmon set up. Full block and head. Or give the block to AEBS. They are very good, they have done a few s2000 block already.

anyway if it is I would talk to CJB80 (chris) he had major problems with the copper gasket.
Also as far as I understand when you lower the compression ratio with the head gasket and not the pistons you increase the risk of detonation & knock in your engine, this could be compleate crap but I think its right
