Purple, like RACER has stated, you were not the previous owner of the car, so nothing can be ruled out as far as lack of maintenance is concerned. Just make sure you follow the break-in procedures on the new block and check the oil often. You still have to remember while this is a Honda it isnt your average civic or accord, it is a high compression very high revving motor.

Is it absolutely bad to Vtec it during the break-in period? Just double-checking!
