Lots of questions about KG/MM DR-21's
Im looking into lowering my s2 soon and i have some questions regarding the KG/MM Race Spring.
1. will i need to re-align the front and rear suspension to avoid bad tire wear?
2. will my oem lip survive such a drop?
3. are the handling characterisics the same? is it softer or stiffer than stock? will overall handling be
improved or will it remain the same?
4. can the stock shocks handle the new springs?
im lowering my car mostly for cosmetic reasons, but i do not want a spring that will ruin the handling of my car, ie neuspeeds. i hope to get a more aggressive look as well as improved or the same performance...
thanks in advance!

I can't speak from personal experience, but I have ridden in Shamu's car with the kg/mm race springs and they feel great! No problems scraping, as long as you're careful and approach ramps at an angle (as with ANY lowered car!). Alignment is a must after any drop. Ride quality is very near stock... just slightly stiffer. Cornering feels better because of less body roll. Improved handling? Difficult to measure... but keep in mind that the S2K has an amazing stock suspension already. The main benefits you get from lowering are less body roll and cool looks!
Why don't you ask Shamu how he likes his?

i would also like to know, can the stock dampers handle the DR21 race springs, or will be bouncing down the road like a ricer? how necessary is it do upgrade (i.e. Koni) the dampers?

I cannot comment personally on the KG/MM springs - however, as with any spring, an increase in spring rate either through the spring itself, or an inherant increase b/c of lower ride height will upset the balance put in by the original manufacturer.
In particular, the rear s2k shock is quite underdamped already, you will find on rough surfaces.
I would NEVER install springs without new shocks. Through experience, it is something you will regret 1 year down the track once your stock shocks are blown and your teeth are rattling.
its a pity that non of the US co seem to be willing to do a proper R&D on the s2k or any other car for that matter. Have a look at www.whiteline.com.au and through their faq section. In particular, note their focus on alignments - especially important in the s2k.
I just had the whiteline works pack installed into my teg, that caster kit does wonders. the funny thing is that my car performs far far better than another car with just tein shocks that cost twice the price of my whole kit alone
