0w30 isn't likely the issue here, the f20c does consume oil faster than other motors. But some brands of oil seem to be consumed at different rates, you might want to try a different brand of oil and see if it makes a difference. You can change the viscosity if you like too, then just monitor it for the next while. Good luck.

Check the PCV valve. Mine was gunked up and stuck open and I was burning TONS of oil. I confirmed when I pulled my intake manifold and saw that the runners were filled with grime from the oil. I pulled the PCV off and cleaned it out and I haven't had a problem.

+1. You'd think reading a dipstick would be tbe easiest thing in the world, how could you mess that up. But in my experience its much more difficult to get an accurate reading with tbe S than it is with other cars.

Since the car is new to you, I suggest you try reading it 3 times in a row each time you check, and only trust you read it correctly if you got the same reading each time. If not, keep trying until you get a repeatable reading, then you'll know you got the correct reading.

As someone mentioned, always check both sides of dipstick, take whichever side is lower as the real reading. In my car oil is often so clean its tough to read. So holding it in to light to get a better view, oil can drip down altering reading. Be careful of that too.

pcv valve is the hose that is connected to the middle of your valve cover. Its to the right of the dipstick, after the valve cover bolt. It's like a plug.

If the pcv is bad, you replace it with a new one.

Did you add engine oil? I always try to keep the engine oil level very close to max.

If you have the mechanical know-how, or know someone who does, remove the PCV from the picture. Cap the IM port, cap the PVC, and run a large vent tube out the front through the breather, ran directly under the car about 4 inches off the ground behind the oil pan. It cured 99 percent of my oil consumption in my first AP1, 02' with 145k miles. I've done it to both of my current S' and unless you have a state inspection that checks that kind of shit you aren't hurting anything. No more oil in the manifold, costs less than ten dollars...
