Hmm...

I think you said you checked your grounds already but Id like to say that I had weird loss of power problem with my Civic after I converted it to OBD 1 and didn't ground everything properly.

You also said the car is running rich when this is happening? Do you think you could get your hands on a wide band O2 sensor to check what your AFRs really are when this happens.

Are there any dynos in your area? Perhaps you could use them to help troubleshoot?

Also I would be interested in what your vacuum and fuel pressures are?

I know that you said your mechanic checked them but Id still like to know the numbers. When you said it was running rich I was thinking maybe your fuel pressure regulator is failing closed occasionally causing high fuel pressure and causing you to run very rich.

I've not heard enough incidents of bad injectors on this car to say that it is a "problem" area. Before you go spenting big money on new injectors, can you get them taken out, cleaned and flow tested? If you have such a facility, this might be cheaper than getting new ones. If they test out to be fine, then you still something else to track down.

What i did about the fuel system was:
-Using best quality fuel (100 EU octanes : 98 US Octanes)
Higher octane will not help the injectors stay clean; it will only help with an engine that has cylinder deposits increasing the compression ratio.

To help the injectors stay clean, you need a fuel with sufficient detergent in it. In the U.S., I believe all gasoline has certain minimum levels of detergent, and some (e.g. Mobil) have much higher levels. I don't know the specifics for Cyprus (or wherever you are located), though.

I did change the catalytic convertor before, didnt sort the problem out.
I did the ultrasonic injector cleaning before, as i mentioned, and i did have the injectors tested, my mech said there was a blockage in the injector no 4 but he did clean it, than checked it again, it was ok (he said). The thing is, after cleaning the injectors again, the car seemed to be fine for a while. It was better, thats why i think it's related to the fuel system. Any comments about what can it be about the fuel system?

If it is fuel system, much can be revealed by checking the fuel pressure in the rail.
