Default Loose-vibration sound from engine bay

Ever since I lost my oil filler cap (maybe in the engine bay), I've been hearing a pronounced vibration in the engine bay that is SOMEWHAT related to throtle input from a standstill.

It sounds like the "tranny vibration" in that it is a vibrating sound, however it is more pronounced, although inaudible if the stereo is ON.

There is SOME relation to throttle input when rolling from a standstill, but minimal, at speeds over 40 mph it becomes drowned out by engine noise.

Could it be my lost oil cap vibrating?

Thanks,

Jeff

It most likely fell back between the rear of the engine and the firewall and is sitting on top of the transmission housing. Start "fishing" with a coat hanger.

I'm afraid I don't have one. Just follow along the driver's side edge of the valve cover right back to the firewall. Now go down. Most of the lost oil caps have been found down there.

If I cannot locate the oil cap,

do you guys think this is a autotensioner belt issue that is causing the noise? If so, would it cause damage if I left it this way with the noise?

Since you seem to be fairly unexperienced with cars, I hightly recomend taking your car to the Honda dealership, explain to them exactly what has happened, and see if they can sort out the issue.

and pay them how much to search for a oil cap? I would, but I don't have the money to do that.
