i would certainly put fresh fluids in before you leave. you dont want little metal shavings hanging aroud in there doing what ever it is they do. i would also change the fluids once again upon my return. i dont know what i woudl do about the gas. when i put my bike away for the winter i use stabol, but i still start it every week - 2 years is a long time

I have heard you should remove the spark plugs and pour teaspoon of motor oil in each cylinder before a really long term storage. Fuel stabilizer may not be a bad idea even if you are planning on draining and refilling the tank.

I remember OhioRacer posted an extensive list of storage tips a few years ago, but I can't seem to find it. I'm not sure if he's around any more (are you out there Carmen?)

Don't forget to set mouse traps or something else to prevent mice from chewing up your wiring. Strange as it sounds, several people have posted about this problem with a stored vehicle.

I've read of someone on this site buying 4 spares so as to store his S over the winter without flat-spotting his tires and without leaving his suspension in full droop. I imagine you could accomplish the same thing by placing the jackstands underneath the lower control arms (as opposed to the frame). In 2 years, I'd think you'd be very likely to flat spot tires. I have no idea whether there is any reason to avoid leaving the suspension in droop.

Also, make a list of everything you did and leave it in the car for when you get back to it.

if you fill the gas tank up like someone said, i think you should leave the gas cap off, because gas swells over time, not the gas, but I think the air in the tank with it. I know if you leave gas stored in containers, they swell, so I assume the same would happen if you fill the tank up.
