Out of curiosity -- since I don't own this device -- are there different generations of the Quickjack that may have different procedures?
I glanced at the Manual Revision L1 Rev (December 2020) and noted there are different procedures for lowering from the first (lower) and upper locked positions. In both cases the release cams need to be down so they guide the lock bar over the lock block in the frame.

On the link you posted , paragraph 12 on page 34 describes lowering the jack from the first stop position.. no manual moving of the lock bar required.

So update on this..
Quickjack people finally called me back, said to manually pick up the locking arms to release the cams. I told him they need to change the manual then, he agreed..

So I did this hack :
Worked very well took maybe 20 minutes and 10 bucks at Harbor Freight. Now instead of trying to muscle these things around they just roll anywhere. And it makes them easy to store under my table saw out feed table!

That looks like an awesome hack for the quickjacks. One of the big drawbacks has to be moving those things around and that helps a lot. I've thought about the quickjacks but not being able to get in the side would definitely be a pita for me. I dream about an Atlas FM9SL recessed in the ground for my house. A friend of mine has a couple of these Atlas lifts at his shop recessed in the ground and they are awesome. I don't wrench enough at home to justify the cost though.
