Sorry but I can't stand it anymore...all these contradictory discussions and subjective opinions.

All these companies telling yuo you gain that much HP BUT we don't guarantee any HP gain.

Do we even lose HP with some CAI's?!

Please if you really know post here what you know...I mean...facts!

There must be some people out there who dynoed their cars before and after installing aftermarked CAI.

I guess it would be appreciated by many of us

Best Thanks,

Yves

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't think any CAIs show power gains on a dyno. If a CAI is going to give any gains, it will be at speed. If the car is dynoed with the hood open, and a fan blowing into the engine compartment, the heat transfer into the stock air box (or CAI) is going to be different than it will be with the hood closed, while moving down the road.

There was a post just today (or maybe yesterday) from one of our members regarding gains he got as proven by his dyno tests before and after. This was for the K&N Aircharger CAI.

Check it out.

Its been shown on the dyno that the Injen and AEM make power as well...

Unless these dynos were done in a wind tunnel, I don't think the results could be valid. All the intakes I've seen are going to be effected in SOME way by the velocity of the air travelling through / over the front of the car.

Would you consider nitrous a CAI?

Cold Air Intake - draws air from outside the heated engine compartment. Not speed related.
Ram Air - forces cold air into a tube by vehicle speed and its benefit is speed related.

We shouldn't confuse the two. The ram air intakes for the S2k (like mugen) haven't seemed to show gains. Maybe they do at speed; maybe not. Some Cold Air Intakes like the AEM and Injen) have seemed to show modest gains.

My Comptech improved my low end substantially. More torque than HP. Seat of the pants feel feels just like Comptech's dyno chart shows, so I believe it.
