Leaky Clutch Master Cyl?
#2
That's a common thing with these master cylinder. Keep the fluid clean and it'll be good again. Replace the fluid in the reservoir and do it again once it becomes dirty. Eventually the leak will stop.

Don't replace just yet. There is a DIY from Billman on how to clean the CMC out and flush with new fluid (Gravity bleed). Then, the pushrod from the pedal to the CMC is sometimes not adjusted right and may have to be adjusted.(DIY on here I think) This happened to my car too and I flushed it out and readjusted the pushrod and it is fine ever since. No leaks (over a year now) Billman's advice is always spot on.

Well heres my predicament.
Last year I did a complete drain and flush to the CMC because one day the pedal just hit the floor and the gears weren't engaging. After that no problems.
Year later the problem hasn't returned, but my paranoid self checks the reservoir at least once a month and noticed it has been going down. I refill to the max line and go on with my merry self.
I'm just curious as if I should just replace it for peace of mind, or do another flush and see how it goes. Shifting is fine albeit tough. I've done the shifter re-grease and clutch pedal adjustment and still grind gears once in a while.

i have that same leaking from mine too, but my clutch was fine. So, I replace it anyway. When I took the old one apart to try and rebuilt it or fix it, I couldn't because there was no rebuilt kit and the o-ring on the push rod was worn out. That is why it was leaking. I couldn't find a right size o-ring for it, so I just toss it away.
