I dont know what you call it but the cylinder inside the car where the clutch piston pushes in is leaking. Anyone had this problem? Must the entire thing be replaced or can you just take it off and put a new seal in there?

Sounds like you need a new master clutch cylinder. Just curious, how often has the fluid been changed over the life of the car?

Seems like this is fairly common on a car that has left their fluid in too long.

I think it also depends on how u stomp on the clutch pedal... some ppl(me) press clutch harsh that it tends to fail every 30k hehehe(at least that's what happen to my integra clutch cylinders)

^ That could mean your seal is drying up. It can handle the pressure when you press the clutch slowly but not when you jam it down.

Probably never, it has 52k miles on it. How often should it be changed, can I use superblue racing brake fluid? I was gonna change the Brake fluid and thought of using the same stuff for the clutch. Both the brake and clutch fluid look pretty nasty. Grey on top and black

If it has 52K miles on it I can almost guarantee you needs a new master. Possibly a new slave as well. The old fluid absorbs too much water collects too much gunk and ruins the seals and piston walls.

I found this out the hard way after changing the clutch. Both my master and slave slowly died with the higher pressure PP.

How much does a new slave and master cylinder run? I should change mine out in a few months.

close to $150 on parts wholesale. if u go over to dealer, they'll probably charge close to $450.00 to $500.00. it's not hard to replace, so i would recommend DYI. it saves $$$$$
