What do you guys think should i weld that trunt vent with a piece of aluminum so that way water won't get inside the trunk anymore. Beside the previous owner install the system in there and they probably do a little bit cutting right there. Thanks for your advice.

This is 1 possible leak location for water to get in the trunk. It's not a fix for all water leaks.
I also found another place where water was getting in. Although not much, just enough to wet the left side of the trunk... the source of this other leak is the gas filler door release mechanism. The giveaway for here was the sound deadening under the left of the liner was soaked when I removed it... however it's kind of hard for the water to get there from the vent.
So while I had the silicone, might as well patch up there too.
- Open gas filler door.
- Twist the release assy and pull into trunk area. (You'll see the tabs the got through the slots)
- Put the silicone around the hole on the inside of the trunk.
- Put the release back into the hole (make sure you don't get any silicone on the actual tab that releases the door).

What is the reason for the rear vents? Can I just shut them off with a piece of plastic or metal? Thanks
I would not close it off. I would guess that your fresh air venting would diminish if that was done. If there were ever an exhaust leak or fumes from fuel they may also get stuck in the car for you to breath in.

Air flow through the car. All cars have a vent some where in the rear for this purpose. If you look behind the seats you can see the vents that allow the air to flow to the trunk.
