I would like to see an honest independent comparison of all of the high end sythetics in their respective grades.

A few years ago, Fast Fours and Rotaries (Australian Mag) did a great piece on many of the popular synthetics.
I believe M1 U.S. and Australia, Castrol Syntech U.S. and Australia, Amsoil, Royal Purple, and possibly more were all tested. Amsoil beat them all easily. However, many of the other manufacturers have improved their products and it would be good to know who makes the best oil product available today.

I would love to see Redline, Amsoil, LE, M1, Castrol Syntech, Royal Purple, Neo, Valvoline, QS/Pensoil all get compared side by side in their respective weight categories to see who makes the best.

Lubrication Engineers Inc. probably will never make a 10w40. Basically our "market" is heavy equipment in severe service, and 10w40 was an automotive grade motor oil. Also the polymers that allow a 10W grade base oil to flow like an SAE 40 at 210F is a pretty big "span" and most of them are subject to shearing, qiute possibly resulting in an oil that falls out of viscosity grade pretty rapidly. I know some "experts will be "agast" but if you want a little more viscosity at higher engine oil temperatures use a 15w40 like LE's Monolec Ultra, however it is not an "approved" vis or API spec for Honda...but lubricates like nothing else. Every week a new LE sales person shows up here and starts in some story or another. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to close all of these accounts save one, whoever the official company spokesperson is...and I'm going to call LE personally find out who that person is. This is insane.

Hi Glenn, yep nothing aimed at you here. I know that you just report the results of your analysis but I'm just trying to keep things on track here.

BTW, did you get my email regarding your offer of help for v4?

They may not be deleted. They may just be hidden. When you go to your PM page, only those from the past 10 days show. You need to tell it to look at ALL your PMs from the "beginning".

Ack...I have no idea about the private messages being deleted. That's not supposed to happen (obviously) unless you do it yourself. Unfortunately the only advice I can give you about that is to contact either chtree or krazik and see if they can't get to the bottom of that since I don't have the ability to get into that subsystem.
