Sure it is - why is there any question? I said Amsoil's ISO 220 90w oils, not their automotive line.

No, it doesn't, so the nit has been picked, and I stand corrected on that point.

Thanks once again RR. I had read the condensed sticky LE 607 thread. Maybe Xviper can cut and paste the discussion from the big thread into the Reader's Digest version.

For me, the issue is one of warranty violation. There are enough horror stories about Honda rejecting warranty claims due to owner abuse or mis-maintenance that I tripple think just about everything I do to my car.

If something did happend to my diff, I would want to be able to meet any Honda challenge with proof that I used an appropriate fluid. The easiest way is to just show them the bottle with the specs written on it. I was going to save the empty for that purpose. Maybe I can find something on their web site I can print and save.

More curiosity, does anyone have a quart bottle with the GL5 designation listed?

I just received my 4 qt shipment of LE 607 this week. The bottle lables don't specify GL5, nor much of anything specific for that matter. I think that RR hit it right on the head when he proclaimed that LE 607's lubricating characteristics exceed GL5 specs. In a warranty dispute, Honda should be required to prove that LE 607 is anything less than GL5 hyploid gear lube or less than SAE 90W to proclaim it to be the causal factor of gear failure. Oil analysis should not provide them with that type of evidence. I plan to change my diff oil today with LE 607.
