Larger Supercharger Aftercooler Radiator
Just ordered the vortech supercharger kit.
Any techie or science heads regarding the use of coolant, distilled water, or tap water.
Which fluid can dissipate and absorb heat best? Why?
Is there a drain plug for the water/coolant?
How bout the tech2drew spearco front mount radiator?
Are there any performance gains?
drain plug?
Anyone have datalogged their intake air temperature or voltage before and after the larger radiator install?
Avg intake temps Idle & WOT w/ N/A vs SC ~7psi?

I have the Comptech setup, but was interested in any benefit from a larger AC radiator as well. According to Shad at Comptech, the radiator w/ the kit is what they found to be effective. So while I can't answer your question definitively, I can at least shed a wee bit o' light on the subject.

I have installed the bigger aftercooler radiator from Tech2. Honestly i did not feel any difference in power output.
But i get many Pro's for the look
The engine coolant temps seems also the same. I tested it in hot summer days without any problems.

Now, it may allow you to run cooler, which is always good.

My buddy posted on here a while back under an anonymous username making fun of people who buy these. He ran some tests with the AEM EMS and his aftercooler and concluded that the only reason why anyone would want this is because it looks like a front mount intercooler.. If you want to seriously decrease air temps, you need to get an air to air intercooler, and run a much smaller pulley. This, in turn causes problems with the belt gripping on to the pulley... so then you need to go to a cogged belt, or mess around with the crank pulley size.

It'd be really nice of sombody were to hook up a temp sensor to their aftercooler fluid, and datalog a track session.
I personally have spent time following a Vortech supercharged car around Texas Motor Speedway, and was surprised that the car didn't pull on me at all in the straights - it was just making its bumper black from all the exhaust soot from the engine running so rich. The speculation is that the aftercooler got saturated with heat and so was letting an excessively hot intake charge into the engine. Or, it could have been tuned or installed poorly. Hard to say. It'd be nice to know precisely how these kits behave on the track.

Again, no expert here, but I do have two consecutive days on the track w/ the aftercooled Comptech. I ran the same track in May NA. I was running w/o the VAFC, so my dyno numbers for that setup are 310 rwhp. I would have to say that I was not getting all 310 on the track, however, I was walking other S's. The only S that took me awhile to lose was jfo's gutted(one recaro seat, no carpet, etc) car w/ Feel's(?) rear diffuser and Reedz driving it. Not sure what all he had done suspension-wise. The track is only 1.6 miles with 12 turns.
Hope that helps.
Addition: In May I was getting a fair amount of blow-by. I purchased a Cusco catch can and planned to install it during FC. With the sc, I had no visible signs of blow-by coming out of T7. So now i have another extra piece to sell.
