Default Krankvent install on stock s2000

ok i searched this site and all of the krankvent postings and pictures were on s2000 with FI. i have a stock one and wanted to stop my oil consumption, so i purchased a set of krankvents. i had to install it with my stock intake. here are pics. i had to cut half of the metal pipe that goes from the valve cover to the intake arm. overall a pretty easy install. the hosing is from home depot. and the popping sound the krankvents make is very minimal and i can only hear it if im in my garage or right near the hood.

Noice!

My Krank Vents should arrive anyday now. Will do a similar write up for the LoveFab install.

I've shortened the metal pipe too, after removing it completely from the car.
Only thing to watch with that is there is coolant running through one of the other pipes, so check for coolant leaks afterwards.
If you don't loose a substantial amount of coolant there is no real need to add.

To confirm they do what they (the Krank Vents) are supposed to do: with the engine at idle, lift the oil dip stick up, as soon as you reach the last green o-ring you will hear a short "pfsst" and notice it's slightly pulled back in again.
That's the vacuum in the engine being "lost".
If the dip stick wants to pop out, you may have installed the vents incorrectly.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, or IOW, the eating = not using as much oil as it did over time.
Not enough km driven with them yet to make any statement.
Oil level was at max (top X) when the Krank vents were installed.

Can someone post a picture of the inside of a crank vent?

The krank vent valves are VERY fast acting and do not leak even in over 40psi of boost. If you take a factory PCV you will find you can still blow some air in it...especially for the 04+

Here are more install instructions. The direction you place them is vital:

Out of complete curiousity, for a NA setup how different is this system from just splicing in another PCV valve on the intake vacuum line?

I'm interesting in reducing oil consumption primarily, but I'm not overly excited about adding in a new noise to get used to. I've got enough squeeks and rattles to track down now that winter's here .

You can order them here:

It is not just another PCV. It creates a whole new system for your crankcase ventilation system and creates a vacuum. It helps to seat the rings better and also keeps the oil from going past any seals.

What was the Honda fix for the AP2? Crank vents? They consume virtually no oil.
