Default Knocking after head gasket and timing chain replacement

I just spent 4K on replacing my head gasket, timing chain, oil pan, and all the gaskets and my motor started knocking after 900 miles. I don't gun my car and even if i did it shouldn't knock either way. I took it back to the shop because it was still under warranty where i had the work done at and i'm looking for advice if they deny fault. I know they had to re-time everything and take everything apart so i find it hard to believe they didn't see anything wrong when they had my engine torn apart. Thoughts?

1. They could have messed up the timing but the car shouldn't even start if they did;
2. They could have messed up the entire job of replacing the headgasket and re-installing everything;

What was the condition of the bottom end when you realised you had blow your head gasket?

These engines are high level and not every shop knows how they work or how to take them apart correctly then put them back together correctly again. Any number of things could have gone wrong between those two steps.
