Knock sensor?
My knock sensor was broken, so I took it to my usual mechanic. He's worked on a lot of Hondas, but I'm his first S2000 he's worked on (done plenty of stuff for me before with no problems).
I bought a replacement (non-OEM) knock sensor that said it was compliant with my car. However the mechanic just called and told me that the sensor was not correct.
He said that the (assumed) OEM sensor he pulled out had a round plug (one pin), and the replacement one had a square plug (one pin). Additionally he said the one he pulled out had was black, and the replacement was green (not sure if that matters, just trying to provide as much info as possible).
However, all the pictures I've see on here seem to show the OEM knock sensor with a square plug (one pin).... Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Anyone have any idea what might be going on? I'm not sure if I bought the wrong sensor or what...

Replaced mine yesterday, and it was almost as frustrating getting a ratchet up there on the sensor as it was to pull my tranny and do my head gasket.
I have a feeling its because i have enormous hands tho and its a tight squeeze.

He seemed pretty confident that the sensor he pulled out was a knock sensor... I'll try and get some pics.
I wonder if maybe a previous owner wired in an aftermarket knock sensor or a knock sensor from a different car...? That would suck.

Whatever your "mechanic" pulled out is not the knock sensor.
