rite now im just searching around and looking at my options. My car will have a system and i want to have the battery to support it. I read today that the optima yellows dont fit perfectly and needs some custom stuff done for a good fit so im not so sure about them.

my bad on the description, its spiral, but to my point, leak proof. id put one in my jeep, but not my stock s2000

n OPTIMA RedTop battery is the only battery specifically designed to take abuse. It's patented Spiralcell

What about the Hawker Genesis battery advertised in the S2Ki market place?

I use Optime batteries to start my SUVs which have to start at 9k elevation and at sub zero temperatures (kind of what ski patrol is about). I also used an Optime in my Mercedes Diesel with great success.

When my S2K needs a new battery I doubt I will go with Optima, I will seek light weight and spill proof. At the moment the Hawker Genesis seems to fit the bill.

The Hawker Genesis is an excellent battery for a car with stock electronics. Once you start looking at amps and the like, even small ones, I'd look for something with a little more kick to it.

There are two different sizes for the yellow tops. The smaller of the two fits perfectly.

u need the optima 51D
Dimensions of 9 5/16" L x 5 1/16" W x 8 15/16" H (top of posts)
i got it on my car works great
i thought there were only D51 and D51R. So the D51 fits perfectly without any modifications and the D51R is the one with fitment problems?
