I helped a friend install the KG/MM Sport springs on his '02 last week. He kept his OEM shocks. He says that he now has less oversteer, and the progressive rate seems to start out softer than stock, but are firmer once they start to compress. Basically he says that the new springs smooth out the tiny bumps, but make the bigger bumps more treacherous.

I know the GF210 are progressive, anyone know about the KGMM race springs? I autoX and generally people do not like progressive springs for this since they are harder to predict since the rate changes depending on the load. I am looking for a good linear spring and failing to find that will end up with coilovers.

No, I never had the kg/mm's on the stock shocks, but the koni's are firmer from what others who have had stock shocks w/kgmm's and gone to koni's have said.

Only bad if you autocross or roadrace. Not a problem if you keep it on the street.

That's surprising but might explain why so many people have difficulty handling the S2000 at the limit and why switching to coilovers (not a single aftermarket coilover uses progressive springs) is good for autoX and road racing. How is it possible to provide a spring rate with progressive springs? The ride on the OEM springs is pretty stiff, the OEM springs sure do not have the comfort factor I would expect from progressive springs.

I haven't ever heard of an OEM spring that isn't progressive. A straight rate spring is not something the average car owner is going to want on any car.
