Default Keeping dual exhaust with a turbo

Is there any way to keep your aftermarket dual exhaust (EX: HKS Hiper), with a speedcraft turbo??

I didn't even know that kit required you to use single exhaust

you can, that's a matter of choice. w/ a single 3 inch exaust you will get more power out of your setup.

Yeah, you can use any exhaust you want, even the stocker. Just depends on how you prefer to balance HP vs noise.

Thnx for the replies. I'm not a gearhead, but i'm picking up. I just want to gauge how much i would loose if i used an HKS Hiper as opposed to an N1 Single Exhaust. As for the pipe, yea, you would definetely have to replace the stock 2.5?? pipe for a 3'' one. Thnx for the FB

Im not sure if its how much you would LOSE, instead, how much you would be able to gain from using a three inch. well..haha I guess Im just being a little too specific hehe. oh well.

anyways. with a three inch, you definitely take off some of the load on your turbo since it will be able to spool up in a much freer manner than with your ordinary 2.5 inch exhaust. Ive had both a 2.5 and a three inch on my type R when it was turbocharged, and the difference to me...was day and night (in terms of spool up time and hp output) ...

For what's it's worth, I think a 3" exhaust is helpful for the turbo, although I haven't actually had the chance to do a comparison on a dyno, as I had both the exhuast system and the turbo done at the same time. I went with dual exhausts, but frankly I seriously doubt it produces any more or any less power, given that there's only one pipe leading from the manifold, so splitting the flow into two separate pipes of the same diameter further downstream won't affect the flow in any material way. Or so I'd guess. I'm sure others might think differently.

My guess is that the difference between 2 1/4" piping and 3" piping for the exhaust will cost somewhere in the 20-25 RWHP neighborhood. That's pretty significant.

Based on Derryck's reply, I should clarify my early comment. While I think the 3" exhaust makes a difference -- and I would definitely trust Derryck's assessment that it translates to 20-25 rwph -- I'm not sure that a DUAL 3" exhaust makes a difference vis-a-vis a SINGLE 3" exhaust. You're splitting the flow pretty far downstream.

Thanks for the clarification, Derryck. You're the man.
