can you change the oil without raising the car with this intake? Or does it still get in the way like the OEM intake?

I just installed mine on an AP2 and didn't have any smoke issues.

I see you have an AP1, so I can't tell if the lines are the same but it looks nearly identical (hard to tell from such dark pictures) to the photo posted in the OP.

Question for you though, do you get a slight whistling type of sound from the intake around 3k-3500rpms while accelerating? I do and I'm pretty sure its jut a normal intake sound, but wanted to see if anyone else was getting that.

I haven't tried but I think you can reach the filter easier with this intake as opposed to the stock one.

^^That seems to be the consensus, so I feel better about it.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I just installed my FIPK last night. Everything went pretty well. Just wanted to confirm, I didn't use the long/short vaccuum hoses since I don't think my car has an air solenoid/air injection pump. My car is MY07 btw. But when I drove the car this morning the CEL came on.

What are the common errors that cause CEL after FIPK install?? Thanks for any input on this.

^^^^Another bit of info I forgot to mention, I used a 1/2" bit to drill the hole for the air temp sensor (didn't have a 5/8") so the seal is very snug. Had to apply a but of force to insert the sensor through the grommet. Nothing seemed to be damage and CEL did not come one when I ran the engine for 5 minutes last night.

Any help Wouk be appreciated, thanks.

I think the sensor should be fine. You are also right about not having an air pump, not sure what's causing your CEL though, post some detailed pictures of your install and maybe someone will notice something that is off.

^^Yeah, post some pics. The CEL I got when I installed mine (after a week) was from one of the vacuum hoses rubbing on the belt (the hose was long and I didn't tie it down in the right place to avoid rubbing on the belt, luckily there was no damage and the hose was easy to replace).

Most CELs are from the vacuum hoses being mixed up (try switching them and see if that works).
