there are a few things that are different
I used that procedure on my AP2. I don't think there is much difference in the AP1 and AP2 as far as the air intake is concerned.

I just got mine on too. Compared to the stock airbox with the lid off the K&N is a little quieter. It's as if each of the sharp intake pops is muted just a little bit. I like it.

No driving impressions from me; my butt dyno isn't sensitive enough to feel the tiny HP gains.

I installed mine about a week ago, and to me it felt aLOT louder than just the lid off.

It was worth it!
