some people don't want facts, these just cover their ears and chant "OEM!" "OEM!"

the OEM isn't much better than a Fram, folks, Honda changes manufacturers like a kid with diapers...all in the name of profit, not quality

and btw, this is 100% on topic, it's not "trolling"
Im open to hear the argument, but I want the facts and details about the flow, the medium, construction quality, life etc... like roadrage posted some time ago. I know its a possibility that better filters may have since been created, but I want the break down just like RR gave it, by a engineer, then ill be a believer.

[quote name='ikeyballz' date='Jan 4 2009, 05:02 PM'] ^zx has a good argument, but as far as i know, no one has had problems with the OEM one, and a few people have had problems with the KN filters.

what did roadrage do, cut open a few filters? what does that prove? particle count analysis tells the story, that's the only way to compare performance

that's really all I wanted to hear from your little potty mouth, son...hit the road, you have zero to offer here aside from your ongoing stalking bullshit
Potty mouth...potty mouth? Coming from you that's rich you delusional gimp.

Don't make me pull out your PM's and present them here, all of which I still have saved, and then ask a moderator to come along and verify that you of course were the first to send one my way. I think that makes your dumbass the stalker. But then again I wouldn't ever expect you to understand that and/or admit to it, considering just how delusional the entire forum knows you are.

Please continue to bestow upon us your arrogant almighty wisdom. It's obviously a really good look for you. Oh, and please continue to pretend that you're an 18 year engineer. That's the most humorous part about your crusade after all.

its true cutting it open will not be able to show particle filtration OR the rate of oil it can filter OR the bypass valve working...

what it will do is show which one is manufactured better.

hoepfully, that translates to better engineering to begin with.

Filtech producing the filters will not be a problem, if in fact they were bought out by the original mfct, since they should still be making the filters the same way.

ill throw in a cheapy fram filter for analysis as well..

by the way, does anyone know how RR cut open the filters? I'm thinking bandsaw, but wont that tear up the filter element?

Seems thee PCX-004 filters are not constructed of the best medium...

This site has a much better filter review... and im disturbed by the NA honda filters, seems the cheap bastards http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/old_filters.shtml

^ For some reason when I search for the S filters on the site it shows no results.

Anyone objecting to Filtech filter quality needs to remember Champion makes some less than stellar filters in their line. My S is still under warranty and I will use the OEM filter, rather than risk problems! When it is out of warranty, then I might use the Hamp filter.

I ONLY use K&N filters and have for years. I have one on my Camaro that puts down 600+hp and one on the S that sees track beatings regularly.
