Quick note on the install of a FIPK: you can go the extra mile on the install and few a few dollars get some extra vacuum hose and route the line that comes straight down and is right in front of the pulley. I ran my longer line along the intake tube from the check valve down to the heat shield. Then it reverses direction and travels along the cross member until it reaches the vacuum tank mounted to it. For a few bucks you can clean up the engine bay even more.

I moved the hose clamp from right next to the heat shield to covering the saddle. From the other pictures I'd come to the conclusion that the saddle had a strap on it from K&N but now I'm not sure if I just didn't see the detail of a hose clamp around the saddle. In the other pictures is the saddle and clamp one piece or is also a saddle and hose clamp combination?
If it's the later it looks like K&N just forgot to put the larger hose clamp in my kit because I had to buy that one from an auto parts store.
Is there much of a difference in this configuration? Didn't really notice any structurally but it does seem to look better though.
