Sorry to bring back a somewhat old thread, but I was curious about something and have been unsuccessful trying to find it in all the over rev threads. I had a minor over rev a while back, and took the valve cover off and inspected each retainer very thoroughly (with my computer up with a pic of bad vs good) and each one seemed just as good as the next. My question is: Even though the retainers are fine, is there still a threat for bent valves? From what I understand, bent valves usually occur for severe over revs, and cracked retainers in AP1s are not uncommon, so I would think if my retainers are fine, my valves would be also.
I'll also be doing a follow up check on the retainers when I do my valve adjustment in the near future.
Thanks for the feedback.

Matt
