The dealer by me has this listed next to there 15,000 mile service

change oil & filter
check all fluids
check tire pressure
check wipers
replace air filter
replace spark plugs
replace v/c gasket
adjust clutch
check & adjust brakes
check suspension F&R
check timing
check cap & rotor
adjust idles
adjust valves
rotate tires

some do not apply to us, but that the general idea
just wanted to know what other people had done.

Your list is generic BS......ask if the dealer has the Helm Service Manual. They should perfomr the 15,000 mile servicewhich will be sections A&B. They can use either "normal" or "severe" driving conditions depending on how you answer certain questions. If your dealer looks at you funny when you tell him this...find another dealer. Your list isn't even close to the S2000 service recommended by AHM.

P.S. Cap and Rotor ....ergh ah.....don't have those .

Yeah, it's crap. They just want your money!

I mean, "replace spark plugs, replace v/c gasket, adjust clutch, check timing, check cap & rotor, adjust valves" tells you they don't know anything about this car.

I'd suggest that you make your own list and ask them to "only" do that. IMHO, you just need an oil change at 15K miles, unless you've been racing the car.

Straight from the Honda web site ("Owners Link"):

15,000 miles

Normal Conditions
  • Replace engine oil.
  • Rotate tires.
  • Replace engine oil filter.
  • Inspect front and rear brakes.
  • Check pads and discs for wear (thickness) and damage.
  • Check calipers for leaks and check tightness of mount bolts.
  • Check parking brake adjustment. Should be fully applied within 9 to 13 clicks.
  • Inspect tie-rod ends, steering gearbox and rack boots.
  • Check steering linkage for looseness.
  • Check fluid lines for damage and leaks.
  • Inspect suspension components.
  • Check bolts for tightness.
  • Check condition of ball joint boots for deterioration and damage.
  • Inspect driveshaft for cracks and check boot bands for tightness.
  • Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS). Check the master cylinder, proportioning controlvalve and ABS modulator for damage and leakage.
  • Check all fluid levels, condition of fluids and check for leaks. If needed, add transmission fluid, engine coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
  • Inspect cooling system hoses and connections.
  • Check for damage, leaks and deterioration.
  • Check for proper fan operation.
  • Inspect exhaust system. Check catalytic converter heat shield, exhaust pipe, and muffler for damage, leaks, and tightness.
  • Inspect fuel lines and connections. Check for leaks.

Severe conditions
  • Clean air cleaner element.
  • Replace engine oil and filter.
  • Inspect front and rear brakes.
  • Check pads and discs for wear (thickness) and damage.

I think most of it is academic. The only point I wonder about is changing the differential fluid. I don't know much about this. Does it really need to be changed at 15K miles under severe conditions?

It would probably be a bad idea to rotate the tires
