r_duff- this is a sound from the rear of the car on acceleration (usually) it sometimes does it on accelerated turns it's not a cv bumping noise, more of like a rock in a beer bottle but only happens once or twice per time (one or two clicks).

everyone else- the hub bolt is what it was called in my DA, i guess it would make since that one would tighten the axle nut though.
Hm, interesting. Most often you'd also hear clicking upon changing direction from forward to reverse or vice versa. I'm no expert on this issue though.

you have an 02 and the other poster has an 01 depending on miles, and driving conditions. you may need to replace the rear bearings.
DIY on Bearing replacement and this will tell you the Size of the Nut. 36mm

Mine was the bearings. I thought they were to be torqued down to 220ft/lbs not 224 or 250.

I can't remember the size of it, but I guess it's referred to as an axle nut because it's on the drive wheels. Perhaps the terms are somewhat interchangeable, along the same lines as a flywheel/flexplate.
those two words are not interchangeable...

a flywheel and flex plate are not nearly the same. yes both ahve a ring gear on them and both bolt to the motor but they are not nearly the same
