I have a Comptech in my car and it works fine.
In general, compared to OEM filters, higher flow filters allow increased particulates into the engine that results in higher silicon levels as shown in oil analyses. So, if you're willing to trade slightly higher air flow for increased contamination, they are a good investment. Make sure that you service the filter at regular intervals to maintain their perfromance.
