I know our cars are known to be noisy, loud injector tick, loud valve train etc.. As I would expect any high compression motor. My car runs great but them again this is my 3rd motor a long story I've already explained. So after gong through 2 motor one would be become very nervous towards any noise. I dont suspect anything but just a question. My car is an 02 bb all stock besides cat back exhaust. Just the other day at my work (America's Tire) another s2k came in. Needless to say the car was not shown any love, faded paint everywhere cracking knock off carbon fiber hood.. I can go on and on about the interior. But upon starting the motor she ran great and the motor was a lot quiter then mine. It sounded like a Prius compare to my car. No injector ticking or valvetrain noise was heard unless your ear was next to the hood almost. Mine is pretty audible from 10 or so feet away. Just seemed odd to me. Should I be investigating and tying to fix or am I too nervous

I guess I should add the s2k I worked on was a 00 all stock

closed hood? it might be quieter because of the carbon fiber hood compared to your (i assume) stock aluminum hood.

just a guess; since carbon fiber also has vibration-dampening properties (carbon fiber tripods are used in photography to dampen the shutter's vibration aside from being light weight)

Yes closed hood. How much of a noise difference would having valves be? Just valves with oe lifters guides an springs.
