Yeah, they dont call it the Stealership for nothing. I knew I could have ordered from Majestic which I usually do, but all of a sudden my cat started sounded liking a can full of rocks so I needed to get the new cat on asap before the o2 sensor got damaged so I decided its worth it to spend a little more now than risk spending a lot later.
On another note, just drove for a bit and everything seems fine. The only difference I noticed was the car doesnt seem to slow down as fast when just letting off the gas, not much difference but it is noticeable and the mid range seems to be a little smoother.

I had this same problem. I just got 2 honda automatic transmission drain plug washers, removed bolts. Put washer first. Then spring last and bolt back together. This gives more spring pressure creating a better seal. My springs werent putting enough tension/pressure on doughnut gasket. Just make sure springs not binding together, coils touching each other. honda part# 90471-PX4-000 A/T WASHER, DRAIN PLUG (18MM)

Its not like an imperfect donut seal would be undrivable for any reason (temporary while awaiting new part), and getting back under the car to swap the new one in once its purchased is not that big a deal.

It should not be compressed, that will damage it, as you found out.

So not much performance difference ?, I was contemplating the same hfc as I don't want to run a testpipe.
I think your bolts look fine. They aren't fully compressed as there is a gap between the rungs of the springs.
