I got the new oem doughnut gasket and installed this just now.(oem exhaust)
I saw in another thread someone had the 70mm and the springs compressed all the way. I tightened these down and this is where it stopped. Is ok or do I need more room?
Also is the gasket sealed? I cant really tell if there is a leak.

When referencing this thread...i think mine is ok. I just want to be 100% sure.

i did mine until they stopped and the springs were not completely compressed. Mine was an invidia 60mm. and i only had a new gasket for the 3 bolt flange side.

They are NOT suppose to be compressed all the way,...the other person i mentioned who had them compressed was trying to find a solution so they were not. Billman said to add some washers to space them but I wanted to know if I needed to do the same so the springs had more compression for movement .

I went to the dealer and bought the new gasket for the header, the Berk came with the 3hole triangle one for the exhaust side

now i wonder if i was supposed to add a gasket on the header side. I only put in the one that came with the TP. (exhaust side)

They say they are 1 time use gaskets(its 47 bucks from the dealer!!!!!) Its not really a rubber gasket (cuz of heat down there)i dont think, its maybe some type of soft aluminum that can compress
Most people reuse the oem one and Billman even says you can but I didnt want to take any chances with the used one crumbling/breaking when taking it out off.

it was probably stuck on the header side(mine was) and it was hard to tell it was even there cuz of the years of carbon.

That's plenty of space and should allow for the appropriate flex. Did you torque them to 16 ft/lbs(think that's it if I remember right)? The exhaust donut seal might not be perfect initially, but it will seal up after some use. The stealership got you on that price, I got my local dealership to match Majestic's online price. It's recommended that you replace that donut gasket, as the used one will often times not seal up correctly once removed even if you use the same cat/pipe you had on there when you removed it.
