Also, something you should check before you start the car...
Make sure full-throttle (gas pedal to the floor) does not stop before it hits the gas pedal stop. The tricky part of the adjustment is to adjust it until the gas pedal hits the gas pedal stop, the throttle body is fully open. If the throttle body is fully open before you hit the gas pedal stop, you are putting tension on the cable and may bend and damage the throttle body cable pivot if you mash the pedal too hard during *spirited* driving.
After you are happy with the adjustment, you can use a felt tip marker to mark the cable on the side closer to the driver so you can see when it has changed.

Please DO NOT tighten your throttle cable without doing this very important check. There MUST be some slack in the system for it to work properly. If over-tensioned damage can occur to the throttle body assembly and the cable mounting brackets.
According to the Helm manual, cable free play at the linkage should be about 1/4". And ... "With the cable properly adjusted, check the throttle valve to be sure it opens fully when you push the accelerator pedal to the floor. Also, check the throttle valve to be sure it returns to the idle position whenever you release the accelerator pedal."
So it isn't just a simple matter of taking out the slack, make sure the cable is adjusted correctly with some slack in the system.

i did this today and was going to post about it, but low and behold everything has been covered that could ever be discussed about the s2000...
I haven't had a chance to drive you but I flicked the throttle a bit and sure enough it revved. Let's just hope it wasn't a placebo mod...
