So Amsoil is scamming you by filling it with .9 quarts?

I would think there would be more inconsistency with draining and the amount left in the engine or filter than with bottle fill. That's usually pretty tightly controlled.

i change the filter every time.

drain is pretty consistent...when it is an extremely slow drip...i fillerup.

i can't explain it...i usually do 5.5 to 5.8 quarts, then i do 5.0 quarts and i'm over.

manual calls for 5.1 quarts.

i dunno mang.

I bet that I've changed more oil on S2k's than everyone that has posted on this thread combined.

5.1 isn't going to fill any of the S2K's I regularly service.

wow ok, so when ever you change oil you add 4 qt. and start it, let it run for about 30 sec and add how ever much more it needs, cause if you don't start it first you are low however much would be in the filter and the block, so you will always be low if you just fill it and let it go.

not on this issue.

i still don't believe all quart bottles consistently have exactly 1 quart.

using amsoil...oil changes have varied from 5.5 to 6.0 quarts and most recently 5.0 quarts put me over H.

i don't think a bottle is consistent in how much fluid it holds...

Well, if a bottle has flexible wall vs another brand with more rigid walls... you know, when yo put oil in , it like bows out and holds more and stuff...

I do hope that was an attempt at sarcasm.

No. The only way that could happen is if the bottle were stretchable, not just flexible. And, are you all crazy? Do you really think the oil companies are going to give you extra oil? "No child left behind" sucks!
