just changed my clutch fluid..
I bought the s2000 in may, and since then I have greased the shifter aswell as replaced the transfluid which made the shifting a little smoother. My car always had the problem were the clutch pedal felt stiff and soft at other times. IT would usually be notchy as well going into gears occasionally. I never had another s2000 to compare to so I thought these were all somewhat usual. I was cleaning my interior today and noticed black sludge/grease looking stuff coming from the master cylinder? Looked around online and people said it could be that the cylinder is bad or the fluid might need replacing. So I went out to the store bought some synthetic dot4 fluid and drained the previous clutch fluid which was very dark. Poured this in and took it out for a ride.
All I can say is wow. I can not believe what I have been missing. My clutch is so smooth, gear shifting is smooth as anything, as well as shifting the car doesnt have a slight jerk which what it occasionally used too. As well as pulling out at low rpms the car used to shake pretty bad, now it doesnt shake at all when pulling out at low rpm's. I wish I would of replaced this a lot sooner! Cant believe how much of a difference it made.
Just thought I would share

Yeah I changed my clutch fluid when they did my clutch roughly a month ago. Black again! Should replace the master cylinder, the rubber/plastic/whatever garmet around the piston wears down and the deposits go into the fluid. Too bad they just didnt sell rebuild kits for the master cylinder.. Although its only like 80-90$ off majestic. Would be nice though.

In about 1-2 months try changing the fluid again, I think you will find it gets black again pretty easily. I also had a slight leak when I bought my car 2 years ago. Since changing the fluid it has not leaked again. I now change the fluid every 3-months (about twice a driving season up here)so it never gets to be in that bad of shape again.
