Just bought S2K, worried about diff
I recently purchased a '02 S2K from a local Honda dealership. I've been driving it for about a week, and in that time I've noticed a wierd vibration coming from the rear end when I'm taking a corner agressively. I've been driving rear wheel drive cars for a while, but I haven't experienced anything like it before. It seems to happen just before the point where the rear tires want to break loose, and only when I am trying to accelerate through a turn. If i back off the gas, the vibration stops. If it helps, I notice it more when I'm taking a right turn.
Could the vibration be a sign that my diff is going bad? I am considering taking the car back to the dealership so they can look at it.

how many mile have you put on it? take it back NOW! put as little mileage on it and tell them you want it fixed. then when you get it back put LE diff fluid in there and youll never have another issue.

Could be a rear CV joint also, since it seems to show up turning ...
This is gonna be hard to prove to the dealer, be ready to bring it to an in independent repair shop as well ...

I fully expect the dealer to give me a hard time, but that's what dealers are good at.......
if it were a CJ joint, it should be easy to see. I'll jack up the car tomorrow and check it out.

It's your driver's side inner CV joint, and you can't see it from the outside because it's due to pitting of the inner bearing surfaces. See this thread:

Yes, there's a TSB, so if it's under warranty they should fix it.
