Default Just bought MY2000 s2000 and clutch slipping

I just bought this car about three weeks ago; I havent been treating it badly but every once in a while I push it. I took it on a trip to Nashville from Alabama and on the way back the clutch starting slipping. This is my first manual car and I am relatively young so any advice on my next couple steps is appreciated. I used search and was mostly advised that if I have a trusted mechanic to let him fix it rather than pay the 1500 dollars (I dont have that much I just bought the car! from small dealership with no warranty). Any other advice would be appreciated.

by slipping i mean that when i hit the accelerator, unless i hit it semi slowly and very measured, the rpm kicks up but the car doesnt accelerate, it doesn't catch gear. and then, while in gear if i hit the accelerator hard it revs without accel once again losing its 'grip' . thanks again

Sounds like you'll be needing a clutch. The Stock unit holds up pretty well if you don't abuse it. The ACT street clutch is a popular choice for most NA and SC'd cars.
