To be sure there was no damage I'd get a used oil analysis done. That will tell you more than anything else.

Thankyou

What would be damaged from lack of oil pressure is bearings. Compression test not much use. Oil analysis is what you want. Don't ask the dealer to do it, do it yourself. Reread that last sentence. Again. You want to make sure the correct oil is tested.

The trouble with bearing damage from a temporary event like this is it has the nasty habit of seeming fine at first, then failing catastrophically sometime down the road. It will be near impossible then to prove it stemmed from this incident.

Just wanted to give an update to say that my car is running nice and healthy now with the new oil pan. There is an oil cooler kit on the car, so the volume of oil is greater than stock. This, along with an extremely quick shutdown (only drive about 1000 feet after the leak started), may have saved my precious f22.

Is returning the car an option you have ?

As it was stated above bearing failure is something that might not come up right away and of course they are telling you the car is fine they sold it they don't want it back. Maybe the car is fine but I wouldn't trust the dealer at all. I would have them take it back and look for another car. Call me skeptical about trusting others or paranoid but it has not let me down yet.

Perhaps have engine oil analyzed, for peace of mind.
