Jolting and Kangarooing in traffic
Hi guys,
just wondered if anyone else has had this issue.
Whilst in stop/start traffic my S2000 will start to jolt and kangaroo when I pull away. Usually starts doing this after sitting in city like traffic for about 5 minutes. If I drop the clutch and rev the engine to about 5,000 or 6,000rpm it clears it up temporarily. But if I'm still in traffic it'll start playing up again after a minute or so. It's usually in first gear around 5 to 10 mph. As soon as the road opens up and I drive the car out of traffic it's fine.
I've read a few theories on this such as it's because of hot air going into the engine, but I live in England so it's hardly scorching hot all the time. It could be the fact that the car needs tuning in some way. I've thought of just biting the bullet and taking it in to Honda, but I thought I'd get your views on this anyway.

Mine does the exact same thing and I am in Portland, OR which is basically the same as England. I attribute it to heat soak as I have the K&N intake and it only happens in city traffic (live in the city)

Normal heat soak on an S2000, they can all be made to do it if driven just right.
You will eventually learn to drive through it, and eliminate it.
