I've heard many bad things about jiffy lube. I do remember they did came on news one time about scamming customers.

It makes me think that if they ever change your filter from first time

I was just about to say this. I cut open a fram before and it looked exactly like it...except it was a little bigger.

Wow, look how little filter material is in there. I'm willing to bet that the Honda filter is cramed full of material. That's why I don't skimp on filters man.

I'd be more concerned about their bulk oil, you never really know what you're getting with those types of places.

If you are planning on cutting filters open regularly, get one of these:

I use the 2nd one down (OIL FILTER CUTTER #7000).

Airplane types use them quite regularly. Open them up, pull out the pleats, spread them out look for metal flakes in the pleats with a bright light and a magnet to see if your engine is making metal.

Bright light for the aluminum, magnet for the steel (like bearings and such).

Also coupled with an oil analysis to determine engine health.

I bought mine with a Fram. I've only done one oil change but I used a Royal Purple filter that looks small like the one in your pictures. I'll NEVER let some other random person change my oil.

Why does the S2k use a different filter anyways? The oil capacities are the same as other Honda's. How does the oil pressure compared to other honda's?

motor trend makes oil filters? i thought they only made magazines.

a lot of oil filters are made by honeywell, then sold to oil filter companies who label and package them.

i personally use purolator oil filters and have never had a problem.
