JIC coilovers do need to be preloaded

i would like feedback from some of the more experienced "suspension techs". is it correct to assume that the dampers should be in the middle of their stroke at rest or is this just an educated guess?

Don't you all just hate doing volunteer R&D work on your weekends? This thread makes me cringe, I came so close to getting a set of JICs (also looked at Spoons) but decided to go cheap (with GC coilovers) and upgrade to the AD designs if needed. Your cars must handle like crap if they are riding on the bumpstops. Good Luck.

1850.00 seems to be the avg list price for JIC's.
I picked mine up used for 1400.00 shipped to my office.
seller was selling his car and claimed to have had them on for 1400 miles. The coil overs looked unused and new when I received them. They came off a Florida car.
