I would be really interested to hear what JIC had to comment about this thread. Does anyone have a contact there?

I don't have any experience with any other coilovers, but I am satisfied with the JICs. I just think they should have included documentation (in English).

Great post gernby. You have me wondering about my Buddy Club setup now. Their instructions were as bad as JIC (maybe OK if you read Japanese??). All this time I thought I was rubbing the fender liners and now it looks like maybe I'm just bottoming out. Oh well, sounds like another weekend project. I've had these wheels off so many times I'm probable wearing out the studs.

I just spoke to Jon from JIC on the phone and he asked me to email him describing the problems with the suspension. Here is the message I sent him:

You were too nice in your message.

You didn't mention that running on the bump rubbers is a real no no and a safety hazard, which in really high speed corners (like on a race track) could cause your car to suddenly loose traction and crash violently.

Not the best advertising IMO

Rev, is Jon the owner of JIC or Zeal motorsports. Because I believe they are just the importer of JIC. You def. should complain to them. And they should be thankful that a s2 member on this board did all the R&D for them. I hope everything work out for you guys.

Gfactor, yeah, I went the nice route, but only because they're going to be working on the car friday afternoon. I didn't wanna give him hell and then ask him to do good work on it, ya know?

Evo, Jon is the owner of Ziel, the importer. JIC is based in Japan, so their owner is somewhere out in JDMland.

But I totally agree that they should be thankful they don't have a multi-million dollar products liability suit on their hands. They would have absolutely no defense here.
