JDM Tranny
I was lucky enough today to be around as a box from Japan was opened with a full JDM S2000 engine in it. It had 10,000 miles on it. I purchased the tranny off of it. My question is what are the differences in gearing I was told 5th and 6th were a little different but they didn't know about the final gear. This shop gets random JDM shipments every few months and didn't have any info yet on the specs of what they were receiving. I knew and they said that engine was rare to get. Does anyone have this and if so what are the differences and are they enough to require a yellow box for the speedo? Any help appreciated.

If it's an 04-07 trans, and you put it in your AP1 car, it will change the speedo. S2000 speed sensor reads off of the countershaft. The AP1 and AP2 trans have different final reduction ratios. It will only be of a few mph from the factory, but in your favor. It will read higher, so you'll get less tickets

Thanks, I want to put in an LSD and maybe the final gear but I'm still searching if the gears are lower enough already that I would be satisfied.
