Default JDM Pistons

Does anyone know much about them as far as gains compression etc? Aloso where can I pick some up at and about what price?

Thanx in advance

I doubt the JDM pistons do much, if anything, to increase compression. I believe the increase in compression in the JDM engines are due to the thinner head gasket.

Dude, you should have let him buy them, then come back and post how they gave him 7.2 RWHP on the dyno.

Hey what's up learnerspermit, I'm not sure but I think with the JDM pistons, you will get a 11.7 compression motor. Check out this link bro: http://asia.vtec.net/beystock/honda/s2000/...ower/index.html To be honest with you, if I were to tear apart the motor, I would go ahead and order a set of custom forged pistons. It's going to cost you more, but you'll get the compression you desire and you'll have a better overall piston to mess around with. Good luck.

i think its a combination of both a thinner head gasket and the pistons. you can't gain .7 points in compression with only a thinner head gasket (compared to stock 11.0:1 c/r).

jdm s2000's can run with 11.7 compression because they have access to higher octane gasoline. you will have to run some kind of 'octane booster' at every fillup to combat the detonation problems you might have with higher compression. higher octane gasoline is more resistant to detonation.

I think thats where the JDM S2000 extra 10 hp come from. So about 5-7whp maybe.

would 93 octane be fine with the 11.7?

I would asume that it would be ok but to race you might as well mix some fuel. How much do these pistons run
???
