Why in god's name are you doing this? I hope it's not for more power... The USDM ECU should be fine and more conservative, assuming that the harness is compatible. The knock sensor is located below the intake manifold between piston 2 and 3, and is green. It's a pain in the balls to get to.

I dont see why the jdm knock sensor wouldn't be compatible with the US one....

Good luck.

So your saying that the JDM engine should come with a knock sensor already, right? Thanks!

I dunno.. depends on what you're buying..you can pull the knock sensor out of your block and use it in the JDM one.. so what's the big deal??

I am still clueless as to why you'd want to go through all the hassle for a couple hp... (literally)

Edit to my original post: The JDM motor DOES have a knock sensor, and it happens to be the same p/n as the USDM one. So no trouble there.

AFAIK the sensors and all are the same. I'm not sure if the S2k is like other JDM vehicles with mirrored wiring under the hood- you may need the USDM engine harness to get the wiring to work in the car.

I have also doublechecked and the JDM only differs in pistons and oddly, rods, from the US model. TB and head casting numbers differ, though not sure why. Cams, valves, springs, IM, and fuel injection... all that is the same.
