today I had a few visits to vtec land, (6-7 times) and after i came home i checked my oil fiter and it loosened about 1/8 -1/4 of a turn. it seems like a few owners had the same problem.

xviper im using a wix filter. filter number is 51334 according to winchester auto here in Cali. basically the same size as the filters used on the later model civics.
Whether a wix, fram, Mobil, K&N or OEM, the fact remains that there are numerous documented cases of oil filters loosening on an S2000.

There have been several occurances of oil filters loosening during a Bay Area Group drive, but I can not find the threads right now. I was on one of these group drives, when a member had his OEM oil filter loosen and spewed oil everywhere.

I heard about a few owners having their oil filters loosen, so when I first changed mine, I tightened it a little bit tighter than I normally would. I monitered it for a day or two, and when I checked it, I noticed a little bit of oil near the bottom of the filter. I re-tightened it, (the bloody thing was hot) and have since not had a problem with the filter loosening.

I do recall when I first changed my oil filter, the original OEM filter was on bloody tight, but I still got it off by hand

The first time I changed my oil filter on my S was the very first time I had experienced any type of leakage from an oil filter due to loosening.

I use only the PCX 15400-004 oil filter, and I tighten it considerably tighter (by hand) than I have in all my previous cars.
