i recently bought a theft recoved s2000... since it didnt have an ecu i decided to go with a jdm ecu... yesterday i attempted to start the car for the first time. i would turn on the switch and the fuel pump wouldnt go on. so i went through the routine of how to check the fuel pump... everything works. except it still does not turn on. when i open the ignition switch.
i started the fuel pump manually... then i tried starting the car... still nothing...what i think is happening is the ecu is not working...
has anybody done a jdm ecu swap into their cars? my car is an ap1. is it a direct drop in?

I've tried mixing and matching ECU's on my car ( australian loom),
The US and AUS ecu's work fine. The JDM ones only work with a JDM engine loom. Not sure why, but if you got a wiring diagram you should be able to spot the difference. Its probably something simple.
BTW. If I swapped out a working ECU for a JDM and tried starting the car it would run for a few seconds on the residual fuel pressure then stall.
If you got your car cheap did that leave enough bikkies for an AEM?

The JDM PCM's fuel pump control is different. You need a US spec PCM or source JDM wiring diagrams to make it work.
Most of the JDM PCM's will have a speed limiter the US spec PCM doesn't have.
