No wait, unless there is some amazing magic in this info we are all waiting on then all I can say is you would have to be in one hell of a hurry, very lazy, and very rich to think $11K drive away was a good deal. But that is just a matter of opinion.
Oh, come on. The average S2000 owner has a $30,000 car as a toy, not as their primary means of transportation. To someone who can afford that, the difference between an extra $7k and an extra $11k is not such a huge deal, and driving half way across the U.S. to a mechanic who has done the work before may well cost them a lot more than that.

No, I would not keep the 9000 rpm redline with an OEM 2.2 bottom end. We currently limit David Karner's engine to 8200 rpm. We could probably go a little higher, but we'd like the engine to last the season.

JonBoy,

Do a search on Sideway's car. He has Alaniz cylinder head work on a Vortech car. With a slipping belt he put down nearly 370 whp at 9.5 psi. I think he would have broken 400 with a new belt. Apparently he's got a higher boost pulley on now and will be coming back in next month for more testing/tuning.

Yes, Alaniz has a motor specifically for FI setups. 20+lb boost.

UL, any answer to my question? Can you keep the 9k redline with the 2.2l bottom end?
Rob

Accorrdind to Joe page with the 2.2L you will keep the 9000 rpm line

Juan,

Alaniz's 2.2 is very different from the OEM 2.2 block I've been talking about. It would probably make more power, but is also more expensive and runs a bigger bore and shorter stroke. The comparison I was trying to make here was an off the shelf OEM F22 block to the J's motor, and showing how close they are in power.

Shawn - thanks for the reply. I've read of Sideways' car but didn't remember that he had Alaniz headwork on it. Nice!

Is that armchair logic again? $4K may be peanuts to you, but it's not to me.

And why do you guys keep talking about transportation? Ship a used block to Joe and have it shipped back. Have your mechanic organise and install. No matter how you look at it it's a much shorter distance than to and from Japan.

Thx UL

I was refering to Allianz race engine.. I mixed the concept i thought that Rod was asking about Allianz engine instead of J' Racing.

From my point of view is worthless buy a Engine in Japan some reasons

1 Expensivier
2 Some of them do not speak English; Feels could not anwser me a few simple question because they did not speak english.

5 You can ask for your warranty in case of problems even follow legal trial, try to doit with a japnese company

so, I just finished reading through this thread, so, does F22 block bolts on to F20 head? even when the head has after market cams? won't cause any valve clearance problem? Does JDM F20 piston fits the F22 block? thanks in advance for your inputs.
