J's racing f22C

Look, there is no right or wrong here, just difference of opinion. But let's at least work on the same premises.
The J's motor is a hand assembled, balanced and blue printed engine with head work. They (or at least HyperRev) claim 300ps but that is undoubtably with custom engine management, intake and exhaust not included in the price. Cost is how much landed in the US with no exchange. $11K? Is that landed? I know a lot of these companies then sting you for freight to the US on top.
Now the comparison is a second hand engine supplied to Joe Alaniz, rebuilt to the same specs (balance, blue print, head work etc). All products, labour, and frieght included.
If we assume that the end result will be comparable (and I think we have established that) what is the cost of the Alaniz build up? And what is the difference in cost?

The funny thing is the exchange charge is really what is killer. Instead of selling your motor for $2k, you have to pay to ship it back to Japan.
Even if they were the SAME PRICE, I'd much rather sell my old motor/keep it around for if it blows up.
What happens if you have a problem with your precious JDM lump? You ship it back to japan?

now on the other hand, a FEEL's 2.3L Crate motor which advertises 280ps Crank power (no mods) is only 777000YEN which is 7,360.86 USD with no CORE exchange. which also includes IM, alternator, etc.

No, I don't think I made my point clear enough. 1AP12NV stated that $2400 for freight (a motor from halfway around the world) is not ridiculous. You said freight wasn't that expensive (so we can ignore it in the pricing).
The irony is that the additional $2400 doesn't actually include the freight.

Ok so you've just said that the J's motor is worth the cost for the performance that it provides. You've also said you have a local guy who has one. Sounds like you can shut everybody up by doing one thing.....get us a dyno from that engine and describe the other mods that car has.
You can shut us all up by showing a great dyno. It's put up or shut up time. Lets stop arguing and see if the J's motor meets it's claims......

This is often a contentious issue. Some people like to quote entire posts, pictures and all and then put 'ROFL' at the bottom. I just post the bit I am referring to and address it directly.
I didn't do it to make you look stupid. Personally I'd like to keep this conversation as civil as possible to hopefully learn from it.
BTW, it's 'AusS2000'.
